This policy explains what information LootSwarm collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Account information: when you sign up with email, or with Google or X, we receive your email address and a username (and, from social sign-in, your display name and profile picture if provided).
Content you create: the deals, comments, votes, confirmations, saved deals, and tracked keywords you post or set.
Technical and usage data: standard information such as IP address, device and browser type, and pages viewed, used to operate and secure the Service.
We use your information to operate and provide the Service: to authenticate you, display your contributions and public reputation, personalize your feed, send the notifications you opt into (such as keyword alerts and your weekly digest), prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the product.
We rely on trusted providers that process data on our behalf: Supabase (authentication, database, and file storage), Google and X (only when you choose to sign in with them), and an email delivery provider for notification emails. These providers process your data under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information.
We use your browser’s local storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as your theme. We use only the cookies necessary to operate the Service.
Your username, avatar, public reputation, and the content you post publicly (deals, comments, votes) are visible to others by design. Beyond the service providers above, we share personal information only when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the Service. Your email address is never shown publicly.
You can edit or delete your content, manage your email notification preferences in your account, and request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us. We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including row-level security on our database and encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and respond promptly to issues.
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be communicated through the Service where appropriate.
